​Just A Taste Confections was opened in 2015 after perfecting the caramel recipe and finding the best tasting chocolate in the Chicagoland area.

When it came to naming the store, Tammy and Jody were inspired by Tammy’s mother, Marian. Marian was a diabetic but loved her sweets. Marian would take a piece of candy, a cookie, or piece of cake, look at everyone, and state, “I’m just having a taste.”

So Just A Taste Confections was born.

Let’s Meet At Manhattan’s

When owner Sindy Rogers opened Manhattan’s American Bar and Grill in 1999, she had one goal in mind:  a place where friends could meet to have a good time, relax, have a drink or two, and enjoy home-style American food, like “Mom used to make.”  Sindy credits her own mom as her inspiration.  “She was a great cook!”

Chefs Efram and Eric, who have been with Sindy since the beginning, have captured the essence of comfort food and have perfected it.  Clients come, week after week, to enjoy classics such as fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf, and fish fry.  Sandwiches are also a specialty at Manhattan’s, including Reuben, steak, and their famous #1 “Flaming Burger,” a 8 oz. Angus beef steak burger  topped with Saganaki cheese and flamed table-side. The portions are generous and everyone leaves satisfied.
